SA address pushed back until March

The first ever State of the Campus address, which will discuss the state of student leadership, was rescheduled Feb. 9 for the beginning of March to make sure the initiatives discussed will be more than promises, said Student Association vice president of communications Sharon Clott.

The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel. According to Clott, it was rescheduled to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the initiatives SA plans to take.

‘We want to provide an open forum for more ideas to be exchanged,’ Clott said. ‘We want to tell students what we are doing for them.’

Clott said SA is waiting for advice from the Student Organizations Council and the deans of all the colleges on campus.

‘The point of the organization is to represent everyone. If we have an idea we have to make sure it is going to work,’ Clott said. ‘By waiting we get to ensure more accuracy to the promises we are making. We’re going to make sure they’re not just promises; they’re goals and things that are going to happen.’
