Public Safety brief

During this past weekend, a five-year Syracuse University employee was arrested and charged for burglary in the third degree and grand larceny – both felonies, said Capt. Drew Buske, of Public Safety.

Public Safety collaborated with the Syracuse Police Department to arrest Brian Anastas, a former Parking Services employee, on charges of breaking into a Parking Services office in the University Avenue parking garage and stealing a safe and a significant sum of money during the weekend of Sept. 23, Buske said.

The safe, which has been recovered, is worth more than $1,000 and the money totaled more than $2,500, Buske said.
