MSOC : Hall drafted by Toronto FC of MLS
Kyle Hall, a forward on the men’s soccer team, has been drafted by the Toronto FC of Major League Soccer in the third round of the MLS draft, as the 39th pick.
Hall spoke with The Daily Orange tonight, confirming his selection.
‘I found about before one of my classes,’ Hall said. ‘I got a call from my agent saying I had been selected in the third round (by Toronto FC). When it happened, I was shocked, surprised, happy. I knew I was up for selection, but I wasn’t sure if they would draft me.’
Hall had four goals and 13 points for the Orange this season. He finished his 3-year career with the Orange with 13 goals and 36 points. He transferred to Syracuse from the University of Toronto, and this past season earned All-Big East second team honors. In perhaps his finest season in 2006, he had five goals, one of which was game-winning, and four assists for 14 points.
Hall is the second-highest pick ever for a Syracuse player behind Richard Asante, who was drafted 27th by Toronto two years ago. He is the fifth Syracuse player selected under head coach Dean Foti.
