Two ESF students robbed at gunpoint

Two State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry students were robbed at gunpoint at the 100 block of Judson Street near Westcott Street Wednesday at 10:25 p.m., said Tony Callisto, Syracuse University Department of Public Safety chief.

The two robbers approached the students, brandished a firearm and demanded property, Callisto said.

The robbers are similar to the description of those involved in Monday’s robbery of an ESF student just south of the SU campus, Callisto said.

The victims described the first suspect as male, black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and had what appeared to be a long-barreled handgun. The second suspect was male, black, 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt, Callisto said.

DPS sent out an e-mail to the university community Thursday morning, alerting students of the robbery and reminding them of safety precautions.
