Third man charged in area robbery
Syracuse police have arrested a third man in connection to the Sept. 3 gunpoint robbery of five men on the 100 block of Smith Lane near the Syracuse University campus, said Sgt. Tom Connellan.
Timothy Glover, 16, of Syracuse, was charged with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Connellan said. Glover is being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center on $50,000 bail, according to Justice Center records.
Police charged two other men Friday connected to the Sept. 3 robbery. Nathaniel Flagg, 17, and Glen Hicks, 19, face two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to Justice Center records.
The Sept. 3 incident is ‘similar’ to the Sept. 7 gunpoint robbery of a State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry student, Connellan said. Police will attempt to determine if the three in custody are responsible for the string of five near- and on-campus robberies in September. Connellan declined to provide details on the investigation.
Connellan declined to comment on Glover’s exact role in the Sept. 3 robbery but said Glover was a participant.
Flagg, Hicks and Glover robbed the five men as they stood outside on Smith Lane, Connellan said. One man brandished a handgun. Connellan could not provide additional details because the investigation is ongoing.
