Visions from Vancouver: Part 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The sun finally crept out for week two of the Olympics here in Vancouver. With the games in full swing this week, I’ve shot highlights like Shawun White’s gravity-defying half-pipe gold and Apolo Ohno’s record-breaking seven winter games medals.

Still, working as a photographer is not always a graceful business. I was assigned to photograph two-person bobsled team. My editor wanted a photo of the racers on the track and at the finish, but they would only be taking one run. This left me to shoot them on the track, then race to the finish line with 50 pounds of gear in tow. Luckily, the course was windy, and I beat the team to get the finishing photo just in time.

As fun as the games have been, I’m looking forward to getting back to Syracuse and getting back on a normal sleep schedule. Thanks for looking.
