STAFF: Quillinan reaches 200-point mark in SU women’s lacrosse win over Vermont

Senior attack Halley Quillinan became the fourth player in Syracuse women’s lacrosse history to reach the 200-point mark in No. 10 Syracuse’s (3-1) 19-7 win over Vermont (0-2) Monday in Jacksonville, Fla. Quillinan registered three goals, raising her career tally to 201 career points. The three goals move Quillinan to fourth on Syracuse’s all-time scoring list.

The 200th point of her career came with 26:47 remaining in the first half. Quillinan’s three goals increase her career total to 170. Her next goal will move her into third place on the SU career list with Leigh-Ann Zimmer. Quillinan also had two caused turnovers, which give her 73 in her career, good for third place on the SU list as well.

Four members of the Orange scored multiple times. Christina Dove and Tegan Brown scored four goals apiece, while junior Tee Ladouceur had three goals.

Quillinan scored three times in the first seven minutes, giving the Orange a 4-0 lead. Dove extended her streak of consecutive games with a goal to 44. Quillinan and Dove each recorded a hat trick in the first half.

Sophomore Sarah Holden and freshman Trenna Hill scored their first career goals to give the Orange its largest lead of the game, 19-6, with 3:41 remaining.



Syracuse outshot Vermont 30-14 in the game. The Orange also grabbed 26 ground balls as opposed to 17 for the Catamounts. Orange goalie Liz Hogan made four saves.

Syracuse will return to the Carrier Dome on March 17, when the Orange play Towson at 3 p.m.
