Everyone loves a little award gold. This Emmy season, we break down the major nominees that struck gold Sunday night, but more importantly, who actually deserved to take home that statue.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Who Won: Bryan Cranston in ‘Breaking Bad’
Who Deserved It: Bryan Cranston
For Cranston’s role as Walter White, the actor embarked on a career transformation to become the science teacher-turned-drug dealer. He used to be that goofy dad in ‘Malcolm in the Middle.’ Not anymore. This ability to successfully and believably complete the change earned him our pick.
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
Who Won: Edie Falco in ‘Nurse Jackie’
Who Deserved It: Tiny Fey in ’30 Rock’
Fey continues to shine as television creator Liz Lemon, who Fey easily translates into a wildly funny character.
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Who Won: Aaron Paul in ‘Breaking Bad’
Who Deserved It: Michael Emerson in ‘Lost’
The only cast member on ABC’s sci-fi epic to give an Emmy-worthy performance, Emerson always exuded slime, mystery and pseudo-evilness in each episode.
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Who Won: Eric Stonestreet in ‘Modern Family’
Who Deserved It: Eric Stonestreet in ‘Modern Family’
Stonestreet was great as Cameron Tucker, the former star college football player now a homosexual stay-at-home dad.
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Who Won: Archie Panjabi in ‘The Good Wife’
Who Deserved It: Elisabeth Moss in ‘Mad Men’
Moss’s continued revitalization of 1960s emerging woman Peggy Olson was a pleasure to watch. ‘My name is Peggy Olson, and I’d like to smoke some marijuana.’ Is there anything more to say?
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Who Won: Jane Lynch in ‘Glee’
Who Deserved It: Jane Lynch in ‘Glee’
Lynch’s catty high school cheerleading coach was fantastic and funny, and she delivered great one-liners.
Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
Who Won: ‘Top Chef’
Who Deserved It: ‘Amazing Race’
‘Amazing Race’ has dominated this Emmy category since its creation. There should have been no competition here.
Outstanding Reality Program
Who Won: ‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution’
Who Deserved It: ‘MythBusters’
It’s a well-produced and well-edited show that keeps dumb people from trying to do dumb things by seeing if it’s actually possible or not.
The Daily Orange’s Emmy Gold
Oddest Sex Scenes
‘True Blood’
Dead people having sexing with the living. Yeah, it’s that odd.
Hottest Red Head
Christina Hendricks in ‘Mad Men’
As Joan Holloway, she’s stunning. And voluptuous.
Best ‘Glee’ Theme

The Numbers
