Cars collide on Euclid, one driver injured

Two cars collided on the 700 block of Euclid Avenue Thursday around 11:30 a.m.

One car, a gold Mazda, was traveling on Euclid toward Ackerman Avenue and hit a Black SUV, which appears to have been backing out of a driveway. The driver of the Mazda was injured, pulled from the car and taken away in a stretcher.

Syracuse Police and Syracuse Fire Department responded to the accident, blocking off part of the block for about 15 minutes. Officers at the scene could not comment on whether or not those involved were Syracuse University students, how the accident occurred or the injuries sustained. A male passenger of the SUV declined to comment.

The Mazda’s right front bumper collided with the back right bumper of the SUV. The entire hood of the Mazda was smashed up toward the windshield.

The accident was cleaned up and the roads cleared just before noon.
