Students robbed in Thornden Park Friday

Two students reported being robbed at 2:40 p.m. Friday while they walked near the basketball courts in Thornden Park, according to a Department of Public Safety e-mail sent to students.

An unknown person reportedly approached the students, displayed a knife and stole money and a cell phone battery, according to the e-mail. The suspect then fled the area on foot headed east through Thornden Park, according to the e-mail. The students did not sustain any injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, 5-feet-9 inches tall with no facial hair and a thin build, according to the e-mail. He was last seen wearing boots, a gray jacket, blue jeans and a black winter hat, according to the e-mail.
