SU announces 4 individuals elected as trustees

Syracuse University announced Friday that four individuals were elected as trustees at the university’s annual board meeting earlier this year.

The four trustees are Steven Einhorn, Edward Pettinella, Laurie Taishoff and Kathleen Walters.

Einhorn, a 1964 alumnus and fellow of the American Institute of Architects, serves on the Architecture Advisory Board and is a member of the Benefactor and Visionary Gift Clubs at SU, according to a Friday SU News release.

Pettinella, a 1976 alumnus and president, CEO and director of Home Properties Inc., serves on the Whitman Advisory Council and the Kuhn Real Estate Center Advisory Board. Pettinella is also a member of the Benefactor and Visionary Gift Club, according to the release.

Taishoff, a 1984 alumna, serves as president of the SU Alumni Association and is on the Board of Trustees Advancement and External Affairs Committee. Her husband, Robert Taishoff, is a 1986 alumnus and also serves on the Board of Trustees, according to the release.

Walters, a 1973 alumna and executive vice president of Georgia-Pacific LLC, has worked toward garnering alumni and community for the university in Atlanta. Walters and her husband Stanley Walters, a 1972 alumnus, have supported university initiatives such as the Cold Case Justice Initiative and the men’s basketball team’s involvement in the NCAA Final Four in 2013, according to the release.

“The depth and breadth of their expertise will prove invaluable at a pivotal time for Syracuse University and for higher education in general,” Richard Thompson, chairman of the Board of Trustees, said in the release. “We very much welcome them to the Board and look forward to their positive contributions to our university.”
