Cornerback Juwan Dowels verbally commits to Syracuse
Cornerback Juwan Dowels has verbally committed to Syracuse, multiple sources reported Monday night.
Dowels, ranked three stars by Rivals.com and unranked by Scout.com, also received offers from Clemson, Oklahoma and Cincinnati, among other schools, according to Scout.com.
At 5 feet, 10 inches and 160 pounds, Dowels becomes the fourth defensive back to pledge to the Orange for 2014. He joins Lamar Dawson, Cordell Hudson and Treevon Prater, who committed to SU on Sunday.
He attends American Heritage School in Plantation, Fla., and becomes the third Florida native in SU’s recruiting class. He joins Hudson and three-star quarterback Alin Edouard, who tweeted about Dowels’ commitment.
