Grant scheduled to start for Syracuse after missing Georgia Tech game
TALLAHASSEE Fla. — Jerami Grant is scheduled to start for No. 7 Syracuse (26-4, 13-4 Atlantic Coast) when it takes on Florida State (18-11, 9-8) at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Sunday at 2 p.m., SU Athletics spokesman Pete Moore told The Daily Orange.
Grant, who missed Syracuse’s 67-62 loss to Georgia Tech with a sore back on Tuesday, looked fluid and spry in warmups before the Florida State game. He participated fully in dunking and shooting drills prior to the game. Grant missed the second half of SU’s games against Maryland and Virginia as well.
On Friday, SU head coach Jim Boeheim said Grant would definitely be back for the ACC tournament, but that his status for Sunday’s game against FSU was still up in question. Now it’s clear Grant will start in the Orange’s final regular-season game before the ACC tournament.
Grant averages 11.8 points and a team-leading 6.7 rebounds per game for Syracuse.
