Syracuse redshirt junior defender Tyler Hilliard and senior defender Jordan Murrell were named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s national team of the week Tuesday. Murrell also earned a spot on College Soccer News’ national team of the week.

Syracuse defeated Albany, 2-1, on Oct. 7, thanks in part to Murrell’s corner-kick goal that night. He also assisted on both of Hilliard’s goals in SU’s 3-1 win over Wake Forest on Saturday. Murrell’s six assists on the season rank him second in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Syracuse was also named the No. 2 team in the country in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America coaches poll Tuesday.

The Orange will try to solidify that ranking as it travels to Connecticut on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup against the Huskies in Storrs, Connecticut.
