Syracuse’s Rice, Mullins named to preseason All-ACC team
Syracuse senior attack Kevin Rice and redshirt junior defender Brandon Mullins were named to the preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference lacrosse team, it was announced on Monday afternoon.
Both players were on the 2014 All-ACC team to finish last season, and were named preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse last week.
Rice led Syracuse last season with 80 points and 44 assists. His 36 goals were second on the Orange and he recorded a point in every game last season. Mullins started every game last season and had 36 ground balls and forced 17 turnovers.
It was also announced Monday that No. 4 SU was picked to finish second in the ACC in the conference’s annual coaches poll. The Orange received two first-place votes, but came behind Notre Dame, which had three first-place votes. North Carolina, Duke and Virginia rounded out the poll.
