Former Syracuse defensive tackle Ryan Sloan will use his final season of eligibility at Stony Brook, he announced via Instagram Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-3, 306-pound Sloan played in 15 games at Syracuse and registered 18 total tackles and 1.5 for loss. The last game of his career ended in an ejection at Boston College.
Sloan is the fourth defensive lineman that had eligibility remaining with SU, but won’t be with the program. Redshirt freshman Jalen Harvey also transferred, while redshirt junior Marcus Coleman and junior Isaiah Johnson both had to step down because of chronic injuries.
The Orange will have seven defensive tackles on its 2015 roster, including seniors Wayne Williams and John Raymon and redshirt freshmen Kayton Samuels, as well as incoming freshmen Steven Clark, Tyler Cross and Anthony Giudice.
