Syracuse basketball recruiting: 5-star Class of 2016 target Tyus Battle verbally commits to Michigan
Five-star Syracuse target Tyus Battle has committed to Michigan, he announced in a tweet on Monday afternoon. He chose the Wolverines over SU, Louisville, Duke, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Kentucky and Ohio State, according to Scout.com.

Battle is listed as a small forward by Scout and is ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in the Class of 2016 as well as the No. 4 recruit at small forward, according to Scout.
The small forward has yet to take a visit to SU — his visit was scheduled for May 22-24 — and his father implied he won’t be taking one.
“I told some other schools he would take a visit,” Gary Battle, Tyus’ father said to Donna Ditota of The Post-Standard, “So I feel bad about that.”
Battle would have been SU’s highest-ranked recruit in the Class of 2016. Power forward Matthew Moyer is the only Orange commit in that class and is ranked No. 61 overall and No. 11 at his position.
