Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2016 OLB Dymelle Parker becomes 12th commit in class
Class of 2016 outside linebacker Dymelle Parker has verbally committed to Syracuse, he announced on Twitter Monday night. The Camden (New Jersey) High School product is now the 12th member of the Orange’s class.
Parker is rated two stars by Scout.com and stands at 6 feet 2 inches, 205 pounds. He held offers from Atlantic Coast Conference foes Virginia and Pittsburgh, as well as Rutgers, but sided with the Orange. He visited SU on June 20, per Syracuse.com, after not being able to join a group of Camden teammates on a prior visit to campus.
Parker is the second outside linebacker to commit to SU in the last several days, as Rochester product Taylor Riggins, who’s listed as an athlete by Scout, projects mainly as an outside linebacker. Parker is the sixth defensive commit in the class, as Class of 2015 turnover Brandon Ginnetti, a defensive end, is now a member of this class.
At this time last year, Syracuse boasted 14 commits. This year’s crop has gained four in the last four days.
