Ann Clarke to step down as VPA dean
Ann Clarke will be stepping down as Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. She plans to take a one-year research leave and return to the faculty in 2017.

SU falls to No. 61 in national ranking
Syracuse fell to No. 61 in the 2016 U.S. News and World Report National University rankings. SU ranked No. 58 in the 2015 ranking.

Juice Jam date conflicts with Rosh Hashanah
Juice Jam started at noon on Sunday and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins at sundown. Brian Small, the executive director of Hillel at Syracuse University, said the conflict might cause a lot of students to not participate in services or Hillel’s dinner.

IDEA entrepreneurship program to be transitioned into larger program
The Raymond von Dran Innovation and Disruptive Entrepreneurship Accelerator (RvD IDEA) program has been shut down for restructuring. The larger program will include new and significant external support.

SU alumnus Brad Anderson, creator of ‘Marmaduke,’ dies at 91
Brad Anderson, the creator of the popular cartoon “Marmaduke,” passed away on Aug. 30. He was 91. Anderson graduated from Syracuse in 1951.
