Intraconference play:
Pittsburgh (5-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast) kicker Chris Blewitt didn’t blow it Saturday when his 56-yard field goal helped the Panthers keep Georgia Tech (2-5, 0-4) winless in the ACC.
Facing Boston College (3-4, 0-4), the nation’s best defense against the run and pass in terms of yards allowed, No. 5 Clemson (6-0, 3-0) quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 420 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers 34-17 win.
Miami (4-2, 1-1) beat Virginia Tech (3-4, 1-2), 30-20, behind 296 passing yards from quarterback Brad Kaaya.
Receiver Mack Hollins caught three touchdown passes as North Carolina (5-1, 2-0) routed Wake Forest (3-4, 1-3).
At halftime, No. 11 Florida State (6-0, 4-0) trailed Louisville (2-4, 1-2), 7-6. Then the Seminoles scored five touchdowns in six second-half drives and rolled the Cardinals, 41-21.
In triple overtime, Syracuse (3-3, 1-1) fell to Virginia (2-4, 1-1) 44-38. Syracuse held a second-half lead, but failed to contain Virginia tailback Taquan Mizzell in the loss.
