Before his one season at BGSU, he spent three seasons in the front office of the Arena Football League’s Pittsburgh Power. Wittke has also worked with operation aspects of the Eastern Illinois football team and Arizona State men’s basketball team.
Wittke graduated from ASU in 2009 and earned his Master’s Degree from EIU in 2011, where he served as a graduate assistant. Babers was the head coach at Eastern Illinois in 2012 and 2013. Wittke’s father, Roy Wittke, had served as the director of operations for three seasons at BGSU before his son was hired to fill that position last season. Roy Wittke then served as BGSU’s recruiting coordinator last season and had served as Babers’ director of operations at EIU.
Bowling Green’s season officially ended Wednesday night with a 58-27 loss to Georgia Southern in the GoDaddy Bowl.
