Syracuse football recruiting: Carl Jones becomes 4th commit since Dino Babers hiring

Class of 2016 athlete Carl Jones has verbally committed to Syracuse he announced in a tweet Monday night. Jones is the 14th member of the Orange’s 2016 class and fourth to commit since the hiring of head coach Dino Babers.

Jones also had offers from Army and Air Force, according to Scout.com, and is listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 175 pounds. The St. Edward (Ohio) High School product was teammates with current SU linebacker Troy Henderson. During Jones official visit to Syracuse this past weekend, Henderson spoke with him, per Scout.
Jones could potentially play cornerback for the Orange, according to Scout. He would be the third defensive back in the class, joining safety Scoop Bradshaw and cornerback Monquavion Brinson.
Jones is the second player to commit to SU on Monday, joining offensive tackle Liam O’Sullivan.
