Dino Babers hired as next Syracuse head coach
Syracuse’s interest in Dino Babers had been rumored for a few days, but SU made Babers its official head football coach Saturday. You can read the reactions of the Syracuse community, recruits and learn five quick facts about Babers.

NCAA denies Jim Boeheim’s appeal
Jim Boeheim said he had no involvement in the NCAA violations, but that didn’t stop the NCAA from denying his appeal and forcing him to serve his nine-game suspension sooner than expected, Saturday against Georgetown. SU made a statement and ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas said, “(The suspension) doesn’t make any sense.”

Men’s soccer advances to first Final Four
Ben Polk’s header Saturday launched Syracuse to a 1-0 win and into its first Final Four in program history. SU’s extra defensive pressure also contributed to the win.

Coleman: ‘I guess (Boeheim) don’t trust me’
As Syracuse big man Dajuan Coleman works his way back from nearly two years away from basketball with injuries, he didn’t receive a vote of confidence during SU’s loss to Wisconsin on Wednesday. Coleman did play more minutes in Mike Hopkins’ first game Saturday, a loss at Georgetown.

SU Athletics shown as most economically-efficient department among Power Five schools
Despite a 3-9 season and missing a bowl game for the second time in five years, the Syracuse University football program saw an increase in revenue last year, while the men’s basketball program took a slight hit, according to government data.
