Community invited to 3rd Annual Good Samaritan Run fundraiser
Be part of the 3rd Annual Good Samaritan 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 9th at Long Branch Park in Liverpool, New York. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with a “Kids’ Sprint” ($10 charge) for ages 5-12 as they complete a quick loop around the Vendor Village and through the Finish Chute. The Good Samaritan 5K race begins at 10 a.m. and is geared for runners and walkers of all levels. Race registration is $25.00/per person. (Children 12 and under are free.) Packet pickup will be in the Community Room at Fleet Feet Sports, 5800 Bridge Street in Dewitt on Friday, April 8 from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. The 5K (3.1 mile) course is USATF certified. Auyer Timing will handle data entry and timing services.
Water and refreshments will be available. Inspirational music, vendors, entertainment and concessions will be on site from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Immediately following the race, there’ll be an award ceremony with prizes for the top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as medals for the top three male and female finishers per age bracket. All participants receive a swag bag of goodies.
Our goal is to encourage volunteering and to provide additional funding for Christian Health Service of Syracuse (CHSOS), a non-profit 501(c)3 medical facility at 3200 Burnet Ave. CHSOS has served thousands of people by providing affordable, primary healthcare coupled with the love of Jesus Christ in prayer to uninsured patients, low insurance patients and those with Medicaid. Proceeds from this event will enable CHSOS to continue offering quality healthcare for those who cannot afford the medical attention they need. To increase the capacity of uninsured patients served, surplus income is needed to take on an additional provider, hire staff, recruit volunteers and extend the hours of operation.
Companies may make tax-deductible contributions to the Good Samaritan 5K Run/Walk for Christian Health Service of Syracuse. Space is available for vendors in our Health and Wellness themed Vendor Village.
