Syracuse point guard Alexis Peterson has been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s first team, the ACC announced on Tuesday.

Peterson, a junior, earned All-ACC accolades for the second consecutive year after being named to the conference’s second team in 2014–15. She is averaging 14.5 points (11th in ACC), 5.2 assists (second in ACC) and 2.5 steals (fourth in ACC).

She also leads the Orange in scoring, and is one of just five players in the country with 14.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Peterson is the 10th player in program history to receive multiple all-conference accolades and the first since Kayla Alexander was recognized in three straight seasons.

No. 17 Syracuse (23-6, 13-3 ACC) currently sits at its highest ranking in school history in the AP Top 25. After finishing third in the conference and earning a double bye, the Orange will begin play in the ACC tournament on Friday at 8 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
