Donald Trump to reportedly hold rally in Syracuse on April 16
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will reportedly be making a campaign stop in Syracuse next week ahead of the April 19 New York state presidential primary.
The business mogul will hold a rally in Syracuse on April 16, according to Syracuse.com, though the time and venue for the rally have not yet been determined.
His rally in Syracuse will be one of a series of campaign stops in the state leading up to the primary. He’s also scheduled to hold rallies in Rochester on Sunday, Albany on Monday and Buffalo on April 17.
Trump will become the third presidential candidate to visit Syracuse. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came to Syracuse on April 1, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich will hold a town hall at Le Moyne College on Friday.
Trump, who is leading the Republican race, has so far won 742 of the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination.
He’s expected to add to that lead in New York, which is his home state. Trump has an average lead of 31 percentage points in the most recent polls in the state, according to Real Clear Politics polling data.
