Syracuse football recruiting: 2016 walk-on quarterback Mo Hasan commits to Orange

Class of 2016 walk-on quarterback Mo Hasan has committed to Syracuse, he announced in a tweet on Saturday morning. Hasan joins early enrollee Rex Culpepper as the second quarterback commit in the 2016 class.

Hasan is ranked with three stars and as the 79th best pro-style quarterback in the class, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. He turned down scholarship offers from Lehigh and Howard, per 247Sports.

Hasan will receive a partial academic scholarship for the first year at SU, according to Syracuse.com. After the first year, Hasan hopes to earn a full athletic scholarship, per that report.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Hasan attended Dillard (Florida) High School, the same school as defensive end early enrollee Kenneth Ruff and defensive end signee McKinley Williams.

Hasan joins a quarterback group that includes sophomore Eric Dungey, junior Zack Mahoney, junior Austin Wilson and Culpepper. Class of 2017 quarterback Tommy DeVito committed to Syracuse a week ago.
