Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2017 QB Tommy DeVito verbally commits to Orange
Class of 2017 quarterback Tommy DeVito has verbally committed to Syracuse, he announced in a tweet Saturday afternoon.
DeVito is SU’s third 2017 commitment and first since head coach Dino Babers was hired in December. He joins wide receiver Daewood Davis and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.

DeVito is ranked with three stars and as the 58th best pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound signal-caller also had offers from Bowling Green, Rutgers, Maryland and Boston College, among others. He is the third player from Don Bosco (New Jersey) Prep to choose the Orange in the past three years, joining sophomore safety Daivon Ellison and sophomore linebacker Kyle Kleinberg.
The Orange’s current quarterback group includes sophomore Eric Dungey, junior Austin Wilson, junior Zack Mahoney and freshman Rex Culpepper.
