St. Bonaventure guard Miranda Drummond is transferring to Syracuse, according to a Syracuse Athletics press release. Drummond will have to sit out the upcoming season due to NCAA transfer rules but will have two years of eligibility left starting with the 2017-2018 season.
The 6-foot-1 forward was second on her team in points, averaging 12.3 per game. She’ll also fit the Orange’s 3-point shooting wings, as she finished second on her team in 3-pointers made (59) and attempted (162), and led her team with a 36.4 percentage.
The Binghamton, N.Y. native’s strong play at Harpursville High School led her to becoming a nominee for the McDonald’s All-America game and was a finalist for New York’s Miss Basketball in 2014.
Drummond is the third transfer that the Orange has added for the 2017-2018 season, joining former Wagner guard Jasmine Nwajei, who led the nation in scoring, and former Florida guard Isis Young.
Syracuse will have to replace guards Alexis Peterson and Brittney Sykes, as well as forward Isabella Slim and centers Bria Day and Briana Day after the 2016-2017 season.
