A court hearing for Kenneth Kavajecz, former dean of Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, has again been adjourned.

Kavajecz was arrested last September on a charge related to prostitution. He was scheduled to appear in Salina Town Court on Thursday.

The adjournment was granted earlier this week and Kavajecz’s next court appearance has been scheduled for July 13. Judge Paul Carey will hear the case. This is the sixth time Kavajecz’s court appearance has been adjourned. The former Whitman dean is represented by Louis Mannara, an attorney based in Cicero.

Kavajecz has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge that he patronized a prostitute. He was arrested last September after authorities said he agreed to pay $80 to an undercover police officer who was posing as a prostitute. His arrest was part of a larger prostitution sting.

His official charge — patronizing a person for prostitution in the third degree — is punishable by up to one year in jail.
