Syracuse field hockey 2017 schedule released, will face 6 tournament teams from last year

Syracuse announced its 2017 regular season schedule on Tuesday afternoon. Last year, the reigning champion Orange lost a heartbreaker in the NCAA quarterfinals at home to Connecticut.
After coming back from a 2-0 deficit to force sudden death, the Huskies scored in double overtime to cap a victory at J.S. Coyne Stadium. Syracuse finished 15-4 (4-2 Atlantic Coast). Led by All-ACC backs Lies Lagerweij and Roos Weers, Syracuse looks to rebound from its early bounce in the NCAA tournament.
Syracuse opens its season with a three-game California road trip, with its first game against California (Berkeley) on Aug. 25. Syracuse’s home opener is set for Sept. 2 against Bucknell and ACC play opens up Sept. 8 at Boston College.
SU faces six tournament teams from last season including runner-up North Carolina and semifinalist Princeton.
