Syracuse offensive lineman Donnie Foster no longer with the team
Former Syracuse offensive lineman Donnie Foster is no longer a member of the program. It is unclear why. Syracuse.com’s Stephen Bailey first reported the news.
The 6-foot-3, 326-pound redshirt junior center started the last two games of the 2016 season when Colin Byrne went down with an injury. Foster appeared in six games that year.
Foster, who suffered a knee injury during spring practice, did not play in his freshman or sophomore years at Syracuse. He arrived at SU as a preferred walk-on from IMG (Florida) Academy and former head coach Scott Shafer gave him a scholarship in spring 2015.
On SU’s Week 1 depth chart released Monday morning, redshirt freshman Airon Servais is slotted as the starting center. SU begins the 2017 season Friday at 7 p.m. against Central Connecticut State at the Carrier Dome.
