Syracuse safety Antwan Cordy reportedly has a hairline fracture in his right leg and expects to be out until the Clemson matchup on Oct. 13, he told Spectrum News.

Including today’s matchup against Middle Tennessee State, there are five games that Cordy would be missing before Clemson.

Cordy injured his right leg in the first quarter of last week’s season-opening matchup against Central Connecticut State. The redshirt junior missed nearly all of last season after fracturing his left forearm in Week 2 against Louisville.

Head coach Dino Babers didn’t provide much information on Cordy’s recovery throughout the week. On Monday’s, during his press conference, he said he hadn’t heard any information yet because of the long holiday weekend. On Wednesday, he simply said that Cordy was at practice.

Jordan Martin, a graduate transfer from Toledo who primarily played cornerback, took over at safety when Cordy went down last week and will likely start in his place.
