Syracuse (18-7, 7-8 Atlantic Coast) couldn’t complete the comeback against No. 10 North Carolina (22-7, 11-5) in a 78-74 loss on Wednesday night at the Carrier Dome. The Orange trailed nine at the half and employed a full-court press in the second half to mount a comeback. Guards Tyus Battle and Frank Howard combined for 49 points in the loss. With the game tied at 74, Paschal Chukwu turned the ball over to Joel Berry for what was eventually the game-winning bucket.
