Vice President Mike Pence will visit Syracuse next week to attend a fundraiser for Rep. John Katko (R-Camillus), CNY Central reported Wednesday.
The fundraiser is scheduled for June 19 at noon in the Embassy Suites near Destiny USA, NewsChannel 9 reported.
The event will come a week before the June 26 Democratic primary, where frontrunners Juanita Perez Williams and Dana Balter will face off for a spot to challenge Katko on the November ballot. A poll released Wednesday found Perez Williams leading Balter by 13 percentage points among likely Democratic voters.
Katko has raised more than $1.4 million during the 2018 election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Balter has raised just under $195,000, while Perez Williams’ campaign has reported just over $10,000 in contributions.
