Mike Bosch is stepping down as head coach of Syracuse to join the Florida coaching staff as an assistant and Miranda Kramer will take over as the interim head coach, SU Athletics announced Friday.

The Orange went 88-65 in three seasons under Bosch, reaching and then falling in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament in each season. Bosch, who was on the Orange staff for the last four years, joins a Florida team that finished 56-11 this past season and made the quarterfinals of the Women’s College World Series.

Bosch expressed gratitude for his time with Syracuse in a tweet Friday morning:

“We appreciate Mike’s contributions to our softball program and wish him well at the University of Florida,” Syracuse University Director of Athletics John Wildhack said in the release. “Miranda will ensure continuity in the program as we have a transition in leadership and continue to build upon our recent success.”

Kramer takes the reigns of the program after spending a year as a volunteer assistant for the Orange and one year as an official assistant coach. A pitching specialist who earned All-American honors while pitching at Western Kentucky, Kramer was drafted to the National Pro Fastpitch league out of college where she played for two seasons.
