After two wins to start conference play, Syracuse (13-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast) jumped two spots to No. 12 in the Associated Press women’s college basketball poll.
The Orange won their seventh straight game Sunday against Virginia Tech behind a 27-point performance by star point guard Tiana Mangakahia, who’s averaged 15.7 points per game during the winning streak.
The Orange additionally received a bounce-back performance from Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi: she scored 18 (second on the team behind Mangakahia) and hit important jumpers down the stretch of the game after she was scoreless in SU’s ACC opener against Clemson.
Syracuse returns from a four-game road trip Sunday for a matchup with North Carolina at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
