Syracuse redshirt sophomore forward Marie-Paule Foppossi is transferring to Rhode Island, former Syracuse assistant and first-year Rams head coach Tammi Reiss announced Tuesday.

After redshirting her freshman season, Foppossi appeared in 17 games for the Orange during the 2018-19 season, averaging 6.1 minutes and 0.9 points per game. The Strasbourg, France native tallied a season-high five points and five rebounds in a 84-71 loss to Miami on Jan. 23.

Reiss, who spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Syracuse, was named Rhode Island’s head coach on April 17. Reiss helped guide the Orange to four straight NCAA tournament appearances and 99 wins during her tenure at SU.

Rhode Island ended the 2018-19 season 8-21 and tied for last place in the Atlantic 10, posting a 3-13 record in conference play. The Rams have not surpassed 10 wins since the 2015-16 season.
