Kadiatou Sissoko averaged 2.9 points per game last season for the Orange.

Syracuse redshirt freshman Veronika Vorackova is transferring to Rhode Island, former Syracuse assistant and first-year Rams head coach Tammi Reiss announced last Wednesday. Sophomore Kadiatou Sissoko also announced her transfer from SU to Minnesota via Instagram on Sunday.

Vorackova, a 5-foot-9 shooting guard, is the second SU player to transfer to URI this offseason, joining forward Marie-Paule Foppossi. Reiss, who spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Syracuse, was named Rhode Island’s head coach on April 17. The Rams finished the 2018-19 season 8-21 with a 3-13 record in the Atlantic 10.

Vorackova did not play in a game for the Orange during the 2018-19 season.

Sissoko featured in seven games for SU in the 2018-19 season, starting one. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged nine minutes, 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. The Paris, France native was one of two five-star recruits to sign with the Orange in 2018 (Emily Engstler).

Minnesota, led by second-year head coach and two-time Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Whalen, ended the 2018-19 season 22-11 (9-9 Big Ten) and missed out on the NCAA tournament. The Golden Gophers fell to Cincinnati, 72-65, in the second round of the WNIT.
