Tucker Dordevic was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week on Tuesday.

Dordevic scored five goals and had two assists, bringing the Orange back to .500 and securing their first ACC win over the Blue Devils last Saturday. Still, Dordevic said after the game that he was “pretty bad” shooting wise earlier in game, scoring just once in the first half. But his backwards, no-look, between-the-legs shot started a 3-0 run from SU to end the game. Gary Gait joked that it was a high-percentage shot for Dordevic, but it worked because it was “reactionary.”

“The fact the pass was aloft, he reacted and made that play,” Gait said. “It wasn’t set up, it was reactionary.”

Last week, he had six goals, three assists and nine points — all career-high marks — in Syracuse’s 14-9 win over Stony Brook on Saturday. The performance was his fourth game out of seven this season in which Dordevic notched five or more goals.

The Orange were unranked for back-to-back weeks for the first time since May 2012 after losing to Johns Hopkins and beating Stony Brook, but after the victory over Duke, SU has worked its way back to No. 18.

Syracuse faces No. 15 Notre Dame on Saturday, looking to win three straight games for the first time this season. The Fighting Irish are 2-4 on the season, dropping their last game against No. 2 Virginia 12-8.
