Ready for some winter fun after a long finals week? Take a break from the stress of studying and holiday shopping to enjoy these upcoming festive performances. Here’s five concerts to get you into the holiday spirit and take your mind off the holiday stress.
Suzanne Vega
Ever heard of the hit song “Tom’s Diner?” Now you can hear it live! Celebrate the holidays with singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega where she’ll perform her popular songs at the Center for the Arts of Homer. Tickets are on sale now and are available online.
When: Dec. 16 at 8 p.m.

Polar Express Live in Concert
“Are you saying that this is all just a… dream?” You’re certainly not dreaming! Join the Landmark Theatre this winter to witness a holiday classic film come alive right in front of your eyes. The performance conducted by Justin Freer is open to people of all ages, happening one day only. General admission tickets are currently on sale online.

Holiday Pops
Celebrate the holidays with the Orchestra of Central New York’s favorite holiday tunes. Artists like American Idol finalist Brooke White and the Syracuse Pops Chorus will perform at their annual concert. Stay tuned until the end to enjoy a special appearance by Syracuse’s very own Gospel Chorus. The event will be held at the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theatre.
When: Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Horns and Harmonies
Syracuse University’s award-winning Brass Ensemble (SUBE) invites you to join their annual concert at Hendricks Chapel as they host the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus (SOS) to perform their renditions of holiday classics. SUBE Artistic Director James T. Spencer and SOS Master Director Kay Crawford, along with their ensembles, will culminate the performances with a candlelight ceremony. This festive program will be available to people of all ages, with no registration required, and complimentary parking provided on a first come, first serve basis.
