Syracuse quarterback Garrett Shrader will not start at quarterback tonight against Boston College. A team spokesman for SU Athletics confirmed that Shrader would be out due to an injury sustained last week in the Virginia Tech game.

Shrader was seen about an hour before kickoff in sweatpants and had not practiced with SU’s other three quarterbacks, Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, Braden Davis and Luke MacPhail. The quarterback was at Tuesday media availability.

Shrader is 123-for-197 on the season with 1,508 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions and has been the cause of consternation in the Orange’s four game losing streak where the offense has scored just four touchdowns.

Del Rio-Wilson will get his second start of his collegiate career, the first coming against Pittsburgh in 2022.
