Syracuse infielder Madelyn Lopez has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week and pitcher Lindsey Hendrix has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Lopez is the second SU player to earn a weekly award this season behind Hendrix. This was the second consecutive week Hendrix earned the honor.

Lopez led Syracuse’s offense with five hits over the weekend in its series win against No. 14 Florida State. In game three, two hits and two RBIs helped Syracuse dismantle the Seminoles 13-5.

In her sophomore year, Lopez has found herself at the top of the batting order for the Orange. Lopez’s .314 batting average ranks second on the team and she has more than doubled her RBI total from last season with 23.

Hendrix pitched in games one and three of the series against FSU. Despite Florida State entering the matchup boasting the fourth-best scoring offense in the nation, the Orange never trailed by more than three runs with Hendrix on the mound. She recorded seven strikeouts across three games and improved her record to 13-3. The series victory marked Syracuse’s first over Florida State since 2005 and clinched a spot for the Orange in the ACC tournament.

Hendrix has posted the strongest season of her college career in 2024. After struggling to find consistency on the mound during her first three seasons with SU, she has become a solid starter. Hendrix leads SU’s pitchers with a 2.25 ERA and 72 strikeouts in just over 100 innings pitched.
