Three-star linebacker Trey Dudley announced his commitment to Syracuse on social media Wednesday evening. Dudley, an Ashburn, Virginia native, was previously committed to James Madison but de-committed from the Dukes on Tuesday.

At Briar Woods (VA), Dudley developed into a star running back. He was committed to JMU as a running back and officially visited SU in its win over UConn. He then flipped to the Orange, changing his position as well. The change is similar to current Syracuse linebacker Marlowe Wax, who starred as a running back in high school before switching to linebacker.
Dudley is ranked as the 166th linebacker nationally and 1,787th prospect overall in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He’s the 33rd commit in SU’s 2025 class, ranking sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 34th overall.
