Three-star wide receiver BJ Garrett has committed to Syracuse, he announced on social media Friday night. Garrett is the No. 2 player in Delaware and SU’s fifth recruit in the 2026 class.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, Garrett ranks as the 104th-best wide receiver in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. During a strong junior season at Middletown High School (Delaware) — where he totaled six touchdowns and helped the Cavaliers to a Class 3A state title — Garrett visited the Orange for their game against Holy Cross on Sept. 28.

He chose SU over offers from 12 other schools, including West Virginia, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Duke and Rutgers, among others. Garrett joins fellow wide receiver Maurice Medley at the top of the 2026 class for the Orange. The class also includes Florida offensive tackle Javeion Cooper, Pennsylvania running back D’Antae Sheffey and Jaxson Gates from California.

SU’s class currently ranks third in the Atlantic Coast Conference, per 247Sports, and 18th in the nation.
