Dear Chancellor Syverud –

I take issue with your decision regarding the basketball team and the NCAA’s so-called “investigation” into allegations of team wrongdoing all those years ago. I view it as nothing more than capitulation to an organization that has grown way too big for its britches, and I am more than disappointed about it — I am angry.

As a SU alum, I am astounded that you and the college administration caved to these bullies, and I am certain that literally thousands of people, alumni and fans alike, will take your wrong-headed decision personally — what an affront to their, and my, integrity.

I realize you are brand-new to SU; but any time you wish to resign would be fine with me. It might even call attention to what’s really wrong here!
