Fehrle returns to SU after four-game hiatus
After missing four games this season, senior Chris Fehrle returned to practice yesterday for the Syracuse men’s soccer team.
Fehrle, a defender, broke unspecified team rules, which led to his benching. Even with his return, though, head coach Dean Foti declined to discuss what rules Fehrle broke.
‘Yeah, Chris is back,’ midfielder Ryan Hickey said. ‘He looked good in practice, getting back into the flow of things.’
Fehrle could play as early as Thursday, when Syracuse hosts No. 8 Notre Dame. Foti declined to say what Fehrle’s playing time would depend on.
Fehrle returned to SU this season, two years after transferring to Virginia. He had been starting at right defender in SU’s 4-4-2 formation.
In five games, Fehrle has taken five shots and has yet to score.
