SA allocates less money for RSOs this spring than spring 2015
At the Student Association’s meeting in Maxwell Auditorium on Monday night, the assembly voted to package the Finance Board’s budget appeals decisions.
In total for spring 2016 semester, the Finance Board was able to allocate about $100,000 less than it was able to in the spring 2015 semester.
In total, the Finance Board received roughly $150,000 in requests during budget appeals and it allocated roughly $43,000 to recognized student organizations for the spring 2016 semester. RSOs that had funding requests fully denied in the original budget proposals were eligible to file appeals. Reasons for being fully denied ranged from RSOs not providing a proof of costs with their proposals to RSOs not appearing at their budget hearings.
The Finance Board fully funded, partially funded or fully denied each request in the appeals. After allocating about $43,000, it has now allocated roughly $730,000 to RSOs for the spring semester.
