Well, here I am writing this at 30,383 feet over the United States coming back from an assignment for The D.O. I remember when I first came to The D.O. all I wanted to do was photograph the basketball team. Well I just did in the Bahamas, crazy. Mission accomplished. It feels like yesterday that I was coming back from SA shoots in the middle of February freezing my ass off as I walked back to The D.O. house thinking this was pointless. Shoot, I don’t even think I was a photojournalism major yet. But I slowly learned that no story is pointless. No matter how small it may seem. It is big for someone somewhere and you are there to tell the story.

Chloe: You were pretty solid to work with. Thank you for putting up with me throughout the semester, as I am sure I was a pain, just kidding.

Brett: We aim for fine. So keep up the good work and maybe you can become a photographer.

Justin: Man Jrecks, that’s all. But seriously, you have a drive that is unmatched here. You somehow get it all done and do it extremely well so keep it up. It was a pleasure covering stories with you and I am sure you will do great in the future.

Jesse: Man Clemson was fun. Pre-gaming dinner and Chick-Fil-A, can’t beat that for a road trip.

Connor: F*ck you

Matt: Where the f*ck is my 128 dollars …

Sports: You guys were a pleasure to work with and some of the hardest working people that I know.

Sam Blum: Man, where haven’t we been it feels like. Traveling and working with you has been a blast. Honestly some of my favorite trips have been in your company. Hey you remember when we almost got arrested? Yeah, I don’t either.

Margaret: Thank you for reaching out to me in PHO301. You had a tremendous task at hand during your time and I am thankful for the opportunities you provided me. If you hadn’t asked if I wanted to photograph for The D.O. then who knows if I would even be involved here.

Michelle, Maggie and Annie: Y’all are the best. You guys have become some of my best friends here at Syracuse and I am not sure why or how that happened. But regardless it did and I am grateful for that. Also Michelle definitely broke Baileys plate outside the bar.

Kat, Jessica and Russ: You three gave me the most joy from being photo editor. Kat you went to cover the field hockey championships and killed it. Jessica you went to UVA on your first ever football shoot and came back with a fantastic photo and it blew everyone away. That was great moment for me. Lastly Russ, you covered one of the bigger football games of the semester and I was a little worried. However, you captured the moment and I was really excited to see your photo of Shafer on the player’s shoulders.

Riley: You came to Syracuse to challenge yourself. Well, now you are the next photo editor and I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you are ready for the challenge. You’ll do great!

Frankie: I came in to photo editor a little hesitant and I am not going to lie it was because of how stressed you were. However, it was one of my best decisions I think I have made here at Syracuse. So thank you for pushing me into it.

Mara Corbett: I do not think I would have made it the entire semester with out your positivity. So thank you for that. Also thank you for pushing me to take this job because I do not think I would have if it weren’t for you and Frankie and Chase. Thanks for the sandwich during the basketball guide shoot it was clutch. #triangles

Chase Gaewski: I am not sure what I would be doing if I hadn’t met you. You have constantly pushed me to exceed what I think I am capable of. For that I am forever grateful. I hope I was able to keep the photo department up and running during my time here. Thanks for everything.
