Syracuse football recruiting: 3-star 2016 DE Kendall Coleman flips commitment from Western Michigan to Syracuse

Class of 2016 defensive end Kendall Coleman has flipped his commitment from Western Michigan to Syracuse, he tweeted Friday afternoon.

Coleman is the 12th member of the Orange’s 2016 class and the second defensive end. The Cathedral (Indiana) High School product is ranked with three stars and as the 75th best strong-side defensive end in the class according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Coleman also has offers from Ball State and Miami (Ohio).

Coleman is SU’s first commit from Indiana and joins Camden (New Jersey) High School’s Jamal Holloway as the only defensive ends in the class.

Syracuse is depleted at the position with the losses of Ron Thompson (declared for NFL Draft), Luke Arciniega (not using final year of eligibility) and potentially Amir Ealey and Qaadir Sheppard (indefinitely suspended). Brandon Ginnetti, a 2016 defensive end who was previously committed to SU, decommitted due to the new coaching staff.
